Hyderabad: The City cops, who cracked the whip on drug peddlers have recovered huge quantities of banned drugs in multiple raids, besides cash and cell phones. This was disclosed by the City Police Commissioner CV Anand. The recovered substances include MDMA and ganja. One of the apprehended gang by the Commissioner’s Task Force of East Zone are also involved in inter-state procurement as well as the transportation of ganja illegally from Araku in neighboring Andhra Pradesh to Mumbai via the state. Two persons including the driver of the vehicle who is identified as Bilkis Suleman Shaik and Shaibaz were arrested and seized the vehicle. The cops of the Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) along with Charminar Police have apprehended an inter-state drug peddler, who was found in illegal possession of a Narcotic Drug i.e., MDMA. About 40 grams of MDMA and a mobile phone were confiscated from the culprit Another gang was nabbed by H-NEW sleuths along with Gopalapuram Police. They have been taken into the custody of a drug transporter and two drug peddlers. The accused had in possession of around 204 Grams of banned MDMA. Apart from this, the cops also seized four mobile phones and a four-wheeler. The City Police chief made it loud and clear that the H-NEW wing will spare none and are determined to make the city ‘free of any type of banned drugs’ which is ruing the lives of many youngsters in the city. He had also sought the cooperation of educational institutions to supplement the city police efforts in identifying those youngsters in their respective colleges who got trapped and are getting addicted.He said, “in recent times we have seen several youth/students getting addicted to Drugs, committing a crime, and involved in other anti-social activities. Several families have become victims of this menace. It is an ardent request from Hyderabad City Police to the youth/students not to fall prey to drugs and request the parents to keep a watch on the activities of their children and feel free to approach the police or pass information to the Police on Phone No. 8712661601 to curtail such anti-social activities and strive for Drug-free city.”
