Drug traffickers must be dealt with iron fist: CP

Hyderabad: City Police commissioner, CV Anand, who is also the chairman of the City Security Council (HCSC), on Wednesday, asked the members to come up with renewed thoughts as well as energies, to partake in the overall economic growth initiatives of the government.
He apprised them of the megacity policing plan initiated by the state government to cater to the needs of the rapid growth. “Telangana is the only state to sanction Telangana Narcotics Bureau (TNAB) & Cyber Security Bureau to address the growing menace of Drug abuse and Cyber Crimes by sanctioning additional 4000 police personnel for better policing and overhaul of the three Commissionerates in Greater Hyderabad. He said the state government had been accorded top priority to the paradigm of “Law and Peace” to ensure robust economic growth,” he pointed out.
He said the anti-narcotics forum can be made operational in HCSC to intensify widespread awareness of the dangers of drug abuse. He also gave instant approval to set up a CSR forum to reach out to all corporates to improve the inflow of funds to streamline and enhance the HCSC activities. He also formally launched, the videos of awareness regarding women’s safety, Cyber security, and road safety made by the HCSC team.
Secretary-general of HCSC, Chaitanya, while welcoming, briefed the members about several forums such as women, cyber, traffic & physical security and other activities and explained ‘dos and don’ts’. AR Srinivas, Addl.CP (Crimes & SIT), who had been officiating as Convenor of the council, apprised the attendees about the good work done by the Council so far, especially during the pandemic-hit years. Seamless integration of forums with other govt agencies, aligning common objectives, the necessity of a robust HCSC secretariat, organizing webinars & hackathons within the scope of HCSC, and other key issues were discussed threadbare during the meeting. Later all the members, who attended the meeting went around the TSPICCC building and spent considerable time at key sections that include the disaster management center, museum, Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate, etc. Mujahid Alam, Bhaskar Reddy, Shrawan Kumar, Rajashekar Reddy , Smt Khyati , Ramakrishna Rao , Satish Babu, Supriya, Geeta Goti, Suresh Kumar, and other members attended the meeting.
