Erode East bypoll win is people’s affirmation for DMK’s Dravidian Model rule : Stalin

Chennai, mar 2 : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M.K.Stalin today asserted that the outcome of the Erode East Assembly bypoll was people’s affirmation for the DMK’s 22-month-long Dravidian model of Governance.Talking to reportes at DMK headquarters ‘Anna Arivalayam’ here with reports from Erode suggesting that DMK-led Secular Progressive Front (SPA) candidate EVKS Elangovan of Congress has established a massive lead and was heading for a landslide win, the Chief Minister said during campaigning he had asked the people to assess the performance of the 22-month-old DMK rule and its Dravidian model of governance and give their support.‘’The bypoll outcome is people’s recognition for the DMK’s Dravidian Model rule”, he said. “People have responded to my request and have extended theiroverwhelming support to the DMK’s Dravidian model government”, he added. Mr Stalin said through this verdict, people of Erode East had also taughta lesson to Opposition AIADMK Interim General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami who had acted like a fourth rated speaker during the poll campaign”.The massive bypoll win is a prelude to the DMK Front’s win in the next year’s Lok Sabha polls, where we will win even bigger, he added. To a query, Mr Stalin said the focus of the 2024 LS polls would be on who should not win and who should not become the Prime Minister rather than who should come to power and become PM”. “I have requested the people to judge the performance of the DMK rule and they have given good marks”, he said, adding, “they (the people) will definitely give us bigger victory than this in the Lok Sabha polls.On former Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference leader Dr Farooq Abdullah’s remarks that he should enter the national politics, he that he was already involved in national politics. Meanwhile, BJP State President K.Annamalai, who had managed to convince its ally, the faction-ridden AIADMK to put up a unified candidate to enable him to contest under the ‘Two Leaves’ symbol, said he accept the people’s verdict in the Erode East bypoll.
