Hyderabad: Union MoS Jitendra inaugurates 5-day Capacity building Program

Hyderabad: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology Dr Jitendra Singh inaugurated the first five-day Capacity Building Program of the series for Senior Scientists in Effective Leadership and Creativity here on Thursday. In his keynote address on the occasion, Dr. Jitendra stressed on need to put the efforts on the people in the age of 30-40, since they will be having the energy to contribute to the development of the country.
This program is for building of Capacity of Science Administrators for Improving Industry and Private Sector Collaboration by imparting creative thinking skills to participating scientists, enabling them to develop competencies necessary for effective leadership, the Union Minister said. Effective leadership helps teams, organizations and communities to respond to change and initiate change processes that produce the desired result, he said.
Leadership is obviously a critical factor when it comes to managing and inspiring change, he added. While scientists and technologists in India work on fantastic new vistas, their formal exposure to leadership through a structured training programme is often times limited or missing, he said this results in many issues as people progress upwards in an organization.
On the occasion, Dr. Singh also launched E-modules on Integrated Government Online training (iGOT)– An Introduction to science communication and Data driven decision making & 3) Code of conduct for Science and Technologies.
The program is being organized by Administration Staff College of India (ASCI) in collaboration with the Capacity Building Commission of India (CBC).The program aims to improve industry and private sector collaboration by providing creative thinking skills to participating scientists and enabling them to develop competencies necessary for effective leadership. ASCI Director General Dr Nirmalya Bagchi, delivered the welcome address being attended by ASCI Chairman K Padamanabhaiah and CBC Chairman Adil Zainulbhai,
