Encroachments by IT Cos will also be demolished: Karnataka Minister

Date:

Bengaluru, Sep 14: Karnataka Revenue Minister R Ashoka on Tuesday said by the next monsoon the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will demolish illegal structures built on stormwater drains by residential builders and more than 30 IT companies.“We have seen the rule of other parties in the past. When the rains stopped, they stopped the demolition. But, we will continue the demolition drive.

By next monsoon, we will demolish all the marked illegal structures built on stormwater drains,” he told reporters at the lunch break of the ongoing assembly session here. “These IT companies were talking too much. About 30 to 40 IT companies themselves have encroached on stormwater drains. There is no question of discrimination. We will demolish illegal structures belonging to the big or small people,” he added.
