Flight delayed over ‘you are a bomber’ message

Mangaluru, August 16: A flight from Mangaluru to Mumbai was delayed by six hours after a passenger spotted a “suspicious” message on her fellow traveler’s phone, which prompted the flight attendants to ask the passengers to disembark from an Indigo plane and their luggage was carefully examined for any signs of sabotage. On Sunday, Deepayan Manjhi, while sitting on the plane, was chatting with his friend Simran Tom on WhatsApp. Simran was sitting in the airport at that time waiting for the flight to Bengaluru. Deepayan’s plane was ready to take off. chat was noticed by his female co-traveler who read “you are a bomber”. Meanwhile, Deepayan’s the lounge of Mangaluru.

The co-passenger immediately walked up to the cabin crew and expressed her apprehension. The cabin crew swung into action and the flight was stopped and taken to the bay before conducting a thorough check by the bomb squad, but they did not find anything. After this, the plane was allowed to take off today at 5 am, but Deepayan and Simran were stopped and interrogated. During the interrogation on Monday, the police found that they were friends and joking with each other over Whatsapp chat. They were later let off. The flight was delayed due to this reason. The police have registered a case in this regard.
