Thiruvananthapuram, Aug: A three-day ³RENEV EXPO- 2022’ Will be inaugurated by Kerala Electricity Minister K Krishnankutty at Kaloor Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in Kochi on August 26. Addressing a press conference here KSEB’s Renewable Energy and Energy Savings (REES) Director R Suku said KSEB aims to in- stall solar panels with subsidy on 25 000 homes in connection with the Onam festival in Kerala.
The event will be organized by the Confederation of Renewable Energy Entrepreneurs Kerala (CORE) in association with the KSEB and the Agency for New and Renewable Energy Research and Technology (ANERT) he said. Speaking on the occasion CORE President MS Manoj said more than 200 companies functioning in the solar wind and electric vehicle sectors will attend the event Which will discuss in detail clean energy solar policies and environmental issues. Claiming that this will be one of the largest renewable energy expos in the history of the State he said the expo will benefit new entrepreneurs and consumers in this sector.
Announcing that a mega job fair has also been organized in connection with the expo he said six seminars will be organized over the three days. Director R. Suku released the logo of the expo during the occasion. The expo website was launched by Anert Director Narendranath veluri. Core vice president Mohammad Fayaz Salam Secretary PP Madhu Treasurer C.K. Mathew Joint Secretary Baby Mathew Media Head C.Roy Expo Coordinators Mani Krishna Iyer Tulasi Das Shahul AI-Nishan and KSEB official Sitaraman were also present. The REES is responsible to explore and develop renewable energy sources in Kerala to meet the electricity demand in the future and to save electrical energy through efficiency measures and demand-side management.
REES is also responsible for screening selection development and implementation of innovative ideas in the renewable energy and energy savings sector from the public to mentor and handhold them to realize their projects with the aid of innovation funds from the government and selection research and development of innovative ideas in the solar wind and other renewable energy power generation sector on a scale suitable for KSEB to adopt the same.
