Mangaluru: Kerala CM to open first 10-day Bekal international beach fest on Dec 24

Mangaluru, Dec 18: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the maiden 10-day Bekal international beach festival here at Bekal beach park on December 24.
This was informed by MLA Udma and chairman of Bekal international beach festival C H Kunhambu to the media persons here on Sunday, December 18.
Kunhambu said, “The impressive robotic show at the festival will be inaugurated by Kerala minister of Port Ahmed Devarkovil while Kasargod MP Rajmohan Unnithan will inaugurate the flower show. MLA E Chandrashekaran, N A Nellikunnu, M Rajagopalan, A K M Ashraf, District Panchayath president Baby Balakrishnan, Kasargod district collector Bhandari Swagat Ranveer Chand, State tourism department director PB Nooh, Kasargod district police chief Vaibhav Saxena and others will be the chief guests. The ten-day long festival is sure to become a milestone in the history of tourism in Kerala which will boost tourism in Bekal and Kerala. The festival has been planned by the government through Bekal Resorts Development Corporation Ltd, the organisation leading the overall development of Bekal.
The organising committee has planned diverse programmes throughout the festival, incorporating history, culture, language diversity, art forms, development concepts and tourism breakthrough of Bekal and Kasargod, said C H Kunhambu.
The art and cultural programmes of the fest will be staged at three venues. Entry to the festival will be Rs 50 for adults and Rs 25 for children. “We are expecting over 4 lac people to witness the international Beach festival at Bekal over the period of 10 days. During the 10-day period various cultural events will be organised such as live music band by Noor Sisters, magic and comedy show by Raj Kalesh, Nirmal Palazhi and team, musical fest of Malabaricus led by Sitara Krishna Kumar, Sufi music by Shabnam Riaz and team, folk song and dance by Praseethha Chalakudy, Tayambaka led by Padmashree Mattannur Shankaran Kutty Mrara, music band by Arun Alat and Anju Joseph, Mappilapat Ganaemela and Oppana, comedy show by Surabhi Lakshmi and Vinod Kovoor, Aloshi Sings along with sangeet Nisha presented by Vidhu Prathap and team.
Acrobatic performance, fire dance, special programmes and fire cracker show is being organised on the eve of New Year and a Mohammed Rafi musical nite programme by Muhammed Aslam and Stephen Devasi;s music band will be held on the closing day.
The main highlights of the beach festival are business trade expos, B2B marketing expos, B2C flea markets, automobile expo, medical expos, Kudumbashree stalls, education expos, robotic show, air conditioned pavilion , precious creations, food fiesta, bridal fashion contest, helicopter ride, water sports, flower show, festival amusements, cultural events, beauty cutie, sand art and selfie point. Chief co-ordinator of beach festival Shijin P, Additional district magistrate and joint convenor Ramendra, former MLA K V Kunhiraman and joint convenor U S Prasad were present.
