Mangaluru, Dec 10: “Festivals are celebrated getting together. I am glad to participate in it as the chief guest in their first celebration,” said district SP Sonawane Rishikesh. He was speaking after inaugurating Yen Festival 2022 held by Yenepoya Medical College and hospital at Endurance auditorium, Deralakatte. “Yenepoya Medical College is leading in the medical sector providing medical service to the society. “May the institute running with the dream and hard work of Yenepoya Abdul Kunhi reach greater heights,” he said.
University vice chancellor M Vijay Kumar who presided over the programme said that there is no need of the superintendent when the staff work considering that it is their own institute. “The festival gets its shine when they do their work with dedication. They are responsible for nationwide reputation,” he said. District health officer Dr Kishore Kumar N said that hospital staff go through every hurdle to bring smiles on the faces of patients. “Supporting the staff through festivals is good,” he said.
Yenepoya University registrar Dr Gangadhar Somayaji, college dean Dr M S Moosabba, Yenepoya Group of Hospitals advisor Dr Ameen Vani was present. Medical superintendent Dr Prakash R M Saldanha welcomed. Dr Nagaraja Shet gave an introduction. Dr Habib Rehman rendered the vote of thanks. The best employee awards were handed over to Dr Divyalaxmi K S, Mohammed Ansar and Vrinda Sherli Lobo, Kiran Gatty, Jayalaxmi, Asha B, Abdulla Razak and Sampat Raj Shetty.
The hospital has issued 65,465 Yen health cards during the year. As many as 6,458,521 patients were treated as outpatients and 64,098 patients as in patients.
