Nalgonda (TSIT) Nalgonda MLA Kancharla Bhupal Reddy has emphasized the importance of CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) in saving lives during sudden cardiac arrests. He made these remarks while attending the “Life Saving Technique Training” program organized by the District Medical and Health Department at the Collectorate meeting hall on Thursday.
Speaking as the chief guest, Reddy said that the number of cardiac arrests has increased after the recent coronavirus outbreak, and that people should pay special attention to their health. He urged people to consult doctors and follow their instructions for exercise, walking, and taking medicines. Reddy also asked the district collector to arrange CPR training for not only doctors and officers but also RMP doctors and members of youth associations.
District Collector T. Vinay Krishna Reddy supported Reddy’s statement and said that basic treatment or oxygen before the arrival of an ambulance could save a life and a family. The government is conducting training programs to increase awareness of CPR for everyone, he said. As part of this effort, some people from various departments have already received training, and steps are being taken to train more people through them.
During the training program, CPR F DIO Jamiluddin explained the process of performing CPR through a demo and a PowerPoint presentation to the department-wise teams. The program was attended by Local Bodies Additional Collector Kushboo Gupta, Municipal Chairman Mandadi Saidireddy, Zilla Parishad CEO Prem Karan Reddy, District Medical Officer Dr. Kondal Rao, District Deputy Medical Officer Dr. Venugopal Reddy, and others. The training program was a significant step towards creating awareness and encouraging the public to learn CPR to save lives during sudden cardiac arrests.
