NCC’s ‘Unity Flame Run’ arrives at Wanaparthy, Telangana

Hyderabad: The ‘Unity Flame Run’ being organised as part of the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of NCC was flagged off from Kanyakumari on November 20 and will cover a distance of 3000 km across all states of the country, on day 22, entered Wanaparthy town of Telangana State on Sunday.
Wanaparthy District Additional Collector Ashish Sangwan flagged off the run along with Colonel Rao, Commanding Officer, 8 Telangana NCC Battalion at the Government Polytechnic for women, Wanaparthy district. A large number of villagers and NCC Cadets were present on the occasion and greeted the team. 30 NCC Cadets ran along with the team for 1 km.
In his address, Sangwan motivated the cadets to work hard, to be successful in life. He also suggested the cadets be part of social work undertaken by district administration. Colonel Krishan Singh Badhwar, the Ultra runner who is carrying the flame, thanked the Civil Administration, Police, Medical staff, NHAI staff, Commanding Officer 8 NCC Telangana Battalion, villagers and others for giving the team a grand welcome. Earlier, Colonel Jha spoke about Colonel Badhwar’s achievements of his Army life and Ultra runner. Cadets were joyful to have been part of the run.
