The South India times Nizamabad: The Freedom Rally held in Nizamabad District Center on Thursday to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of India’s Independence went on enthusiastically. The rally started from Ambedkar Square in the heart of the city and proceeded to the Collectorate through the main roads. Thousands of people from all walks of life volunteered to participate in the Freedom Rally at 6.30 am to celebrate the 75 years of independence. The participation of students, young men, and women to the old people with their hearts full of patriotism and joining the 2K Run was a reflection of national unity. Wearing white t-shirts specially designed by the district administration to celebrate Vajrotsavam, thousands of people took part in the rally unveiling a beautiful sight and stand- ing testimony to the sym- bol of equality.
Zilla Parishad Chairman Dadannagari Vithal Rao, District Judge K.Sunitha, Collector C. Narayana Reddy, Police Commissioner KR Nagaraju, City Mayor Dandu Neetu Kiran, Additional Collectors Chandrasekhar, Chitramishra Nuda Chairman Prabhakar Reddy, District Olympic Association President Gadila Ramulu and others all participated in the 2K run. Along with them, officers of all departments, public representatives, police, NCC, NSS cadets, seventh battalion staff, students of government and private schools and colleges, doctors, nursing students, in charges of sports associations, representatives of voluntary organizations, and army officers They took part in the rally waving the tricolor flags and shouting patriotic slogans and expressed the sense of national unity. The collectorate ground was thronged with people attending the freedom rally. In any case, the fluttering flags of Muvvannela were flying proudly. Tricolor balloons were floated in the air to symbolize freedom and independence. Expressing the importance of independence and the greatness of India, cultural artists sang patriotic songs as a feast of veenas.
Addressing the Freedom Rally as Chief Guest, District Judge K. Sunitha said that every citizen has a heavy responsibility to carry for- ward the spirit of India’s freedom. Today’s youth, especially, recognize the struggles of national leaders and call upon them to work hard to realize the importance of the country’s independence, which was achieved as a result of their sacrifices. He reminded us that all the citizens of independent India were given rights and responsibilities by the Constitution.
