ACHIEVEMENTS ON ANNAPURNA RS.5/- MEALS SCHEME

The objective of the Annapurna Food Scheme is to provide affordable and hygienic food comprising Rice(400 gms), Sambar(120gms), Sabji(100gms) & Pickle(15 gms) to all walks of people. The GHMC started the initiative in the year 2014 and before lockdown, it is being implemented in about (150) centers providing around45,000 lunches per day. During the FIRST LOCKDOWN period, the Annapurna Meals were supplied totally free of cost within GHMC limits. The Annapurna meals were provided across (373) centers including mobile Annapurna during lunch and in (259) centers including mobile Annapurna during dinner time. The total number of meals served during 2020-21 is 2,29,46,080. Further, a decision has been taken to establish Seating Annapurna canteens for the convenience of the public. In the first instance, (32) locations have been identified at each of the Circle of GHMC to establish “Seating Annapurna Canteens”.
