The South India times Kukatpally: It was a red-letter day in the history of India when the country got its freedom on August 15, 1947. It took hundreds of years for us to break the shackles of slavery. The people of the country celebrate this festival every year with great pomp and show. The main program is celebrated at the Red Fort in New Delhi. Besides, this festival is also celebrated in every city and town, in every school, college, and university. Akshara International School-Kukatpally also celebrates this festival every year. The school had made all the preparations for this year. In the morning, students of Akshara International School marched out onto their school playground with a band. The 75th Independence Day was celebrated by the Akshara International School-Kukatpally on Monday, August 15, 2022, by the students and staff members with full patriotic fervor. The event was graced by the Principal, Ms. Hymavathi; the administrative manager, Mrs. Jyothi; teachers; school staff, and others.
The enthusiastic students displayed their talent and passion for the country through a wide range of activities and competitions judged by the esteemed alumni and teachers. The celebration commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony, where the National Flag was unfurled with a shower of rose petals and the soul-stirring National Anthem, which was followed by the release of beautiful tricolored balloons. Ms. Hymavathi, in her inaugural address, started by referring to Tryst with Destiny, the speech given by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru at the stroke of the first midnight hour of independent India. She mentioned the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, and the unsung heroes who laid down their lives for the freedom of India. Exhibiting her pride for the nation, having seen it grow and reach phenomenal heights, she spoke about the role every citizen plays in the growth of a nation and also the feeling of pride of being an Indian.
