Hyderabad: The Department of Employment & Training (DET), Government of Telangana in collaboration with Centre for Good Governance (CGG) on Thursday organized an industrial roundtable conference on IT & ITES sector with a theme “Skilling Telangana for Brighter Future”. This is a part of a series of six industrial roundtables to be held between 7 to 21 March 2025 on themes of BFSI, Construction, Life Sciences, Manufacturing and IT & ITES.
The conference covered key issues including the current state of the skills being imparted to youth in IT&ITES related sectors, the future direction of skilling and the wider social and economic implications. The primary objective of the roundtables was to bridge the existing gap in the skill training programmes offered by various government departments and the industry requirements. This meeting addressed the major challenges and requirements of skills required to be engaged in various sub sectors under Retail.
Prof. Devi Prasad Juvvadi, Director, CGG, Rajendra Nimje, IAS (Retd) Director General, CGG, Sanjay Kumar, Special Chief Secretary, Department of Labour, Employment, Training and Factories, and other officials participated.
Sanjay focused on the state government’s efforts in strengthening the skill ecosystem specifically revamping the Industrial Training Institutions (ITIs) and endeavors to make the private players a key stakeholder in their management.
Challa Nageshwar Rao, Head-TCS Hyderabad, Shrikanth Sinha, CEO, TASK, Dr Sandhya Chintala, ED, IT-ITeS Sector Skill Council, NASSCOM, Vijay Rangineni, Advisor, Dallas Venture Capital, Rohit Chennamaneni, co-founder, Darwin Box, and other industry leaders shared their views.
