Farmers should focus on oil palm cultivation: T Harish Rao

20 thousand acres of oil farm plantation should be done by August this month. State Finance and Health Minister Harish Rao ordered the oil-fed and horticulture authorities to go ahead with the activity. MinisterHarish Rao visited the farm oil nursery in Mulugu village which is the Mandal center of Siddipet district. The Minister expressed extreme impatience with the behavior of the contractor and Oil Fed officials for not providing enough plants to farmers in the district to grow oil farm plants.

The minister expressed displeasure over the non-delivery of oil farm plants that were to be provided as per the target of last month. The Minister instructed the respective authorities to prepare and hand over the plants that the farmers are ready to grow oil farm plantations on 2 thousand acres already in the district. Along with the minister, MLC Yadava Reddy, District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil, Deputy Director of Horticulture Department Rama Lakshmi, Oil Fed District Incharge Shankar, local public representatives, and others participated in the program.
