GHMC issues notices against dilapidated structures in city

Hyderabad, July 26 (UNI): The GHMC was taking all coercive steps while dealing with dilapidated structures well in advance of the monsoon season every year. As part of the monsoon preparedness activities; the GHMC has conducted a survey to the identification of Dilapidated Structures and taken all precautionary steps such as getting verified with the structural stability of the dilapidated structure, issue of notices, and taking up a special drive for demolition of the structures. In case of any resistance to the demolition of the structure by the persons, immediate measure for counseling is being done to the inmates to either vacate immediately or seize the structure restricting further movement in and around the dilapidated structure.

The Minister for MA&UD held a review meeting on April 5, 2022, and issued instructions to take advance action on dilapidated structures while also suggesting stenciling caution notices on all the structures about the unsafe nature and restricting movement around the same. Accordingly as per the instructions stenciling is being done on the unsafe structures. This year alone, out of the total 620 structures identified by GHMC; 231 number of structures have been demolished and 294 structures.
