In a remarkable display of coordination and urgency, Hyderabad traffic police created a green channel to transport lungs from Bengaluru to Secunderabad, ensuring a life saving transplant could be carried out without delay. The effort once again highlighted how timely action can make a critical difference in emergency medical care.
The lungs were flown from Bengaluru to Shamshabad airport, where a medical team immediately shifted them into a specially arranged ambulance. Understanding the urgency of the situation, doctors sought assistance from traffic police, as even minor delays could have risked the patient’s life.
Responding swiftly, police officials established a dedicated green corridor stretching nearly 35 kilometers from the airport to KIMS hospital in Secunderabad. Traffic signals along the route were cleared and regulated to ensure the ambulance faced no interruptions during transit.
With pilot vehicles escorting it, the ambulance moved at high speed through the city, bypassing usual traffic congestion. Thanks to the seamless coordination between Cyberabad and Hyderabad traffic police, the organs reached the hospital safely and within the required time frame.
Doctors at KIMS immediately began the transplant procedure upon receiving the lungs, giving a new lease of life to a patient in critical condition. Medical experts emphasized that every minute is crucial in such cases, and the rapid transport played a decisive role.
Such green channel operations have been successfully carried out in the past for organs like heart and liver as well. With increasing traffic in the city, these coordinated efforts by police have become vital for emergency healthcare services.
The initiative has received widespread appreciation from citizens and patient families, who hailed the police for combining efficiency with humanity. Officials said that these fast track transport systems continue to play a key role in saving lives through organ donation and timely medical intervention.
