Issuance of railway passes to journalists started

The south India times Jagtila: It is known that the railway board has stopped the concession for journalists in train travel. The National President and General Secretary of the Indian Journalists Union (IJU) K.Srinivas Reddy and Balwinder Singh have consulted with the senior officials of the Railway Board as well as the Union Ministers and submitted petitions to continue the concession for journalists on train journeys.

Also, on April 25 and 26, the national executive committee meeting held in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh state, discussed the matter and passed the resolution, and sent it to the central government. Moreover, on May 10, the IJU demanded that railway passes be issued to journalists in a nationwide agitation. Rethinking the IJU demand, the Railway Board has finally decided to continue the concession for senior citizens and journalists.
