It is not a common thing that 4 people died after family planning operation: Governor

Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Sunday said it is not a common thing and it is not acceptable that four people died with the failure of family planning operations at Government hospital, Ibrahimpatna m here. An inquiry is going on. Full details will be known after the report, she said. It may be noted here that 34 women underwent a family planning operation in Government hospital Ibrahimpatnam on August 25. Of the four women died from the infections in different private hospitals last Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

In precautionary some of them were admitted to Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) here for treatment. Speaking to the media after consoling the victims at NIMS hospital, the Governor expressed her satisfaction over the treatment to the women at the hospital.

“ The victims are seeking financial assistance. I will take it to the attention of the government and see that they get it”, she said. Such incidents should not be repeated, the Governor said and added that this happened with the target of doing more operations. As a doctor, the Governor said that the incident happened with the goal of doing more operations. As a doctor, he said that the target of doing more operations and the infection happened to them. Family planning operation means more people should come forward, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan said she will write a letter to the government to improve facilities in the government hospitals.
