Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has announced financial as- assistance of Rs.10,000 and 20 kg of rice for each flood-affected family in Bhadrachalam. Speaking to the media on Sunday after inspecting the flood-hit areas in and around Bhadracha- lam town, the Chief Minister also announced the allocation of Rs 1,000 crore to take up works for the protection of Bhadrachalam town from Godavari floods on a permanent basis.

The intensity of floods is stated to be unprecedented during July. The chief minister said since the weather department has forecast rains till July 29, the officials should be on alert.
