Minister for Industries and Commerce, IT and Municipal Administration and Urban Development KT Rama Rao along with Minister for Transport Ajay Kumar Puvvada inaugurated the Safran Aircraft Engine MRI Facility at Shamshabad. Speaking on the occasion, Minister KT Rama Rao said that the MRI facility center set up with an investment of 1200 crores is the biggest MMARV center of Safran Company and it is also the first engine maintenance center being set up by a foreign company in the country. He said that around 1,000 people will get job opportunities through the facility. He said that the aviation industry in Telangana would get more impetus with the Saffron MMARV center to be set up for maintenance of Leap-1A and Leap-1B engines used in commercial aircraft.
Minister KT Rama Rao said that the MRO to be set up by Safran in Hyderabad is the largest in the world. MRO is said to be the first engine to be set up in India. Stating that the Safran’s decision would motivate other companies to invest in Hyderabad, Minister KTR reminded that CM KCR used to say that investors were the biggest brand ambassadors of the State. He said that a suitable policy for industries had been in place in Telangana. French aviation giant Safran had chosen Hyderabad to set up its first Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MMARO) centre in India. This centre has been set up for the maintenance and repair of aircraft engines with an investment of Rs.1,200 crore (15 crore US dollars) providing job opportunities to around 1,000 people. The aviation industry in Telangana will get a boost with the Safran MMARV center to be set up for the maintenance of Leap-1A and Leap-1B engines used in commercial aircraft.Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Safran Olivier Andries, EVP of interconnection Systems Eurasia of Safran Electricals and Power Serge Pons and CEO of Safran Aircraft Engines Jean-Paul Alary and others were present.
