Officials directed to follow punctuality of trains with safety precautions

Hyderabad, July 25 (UNI): South Central Railway General Manager Arun Kumar Jain directed the officials to accord top priority to the punctuality of the trains along with safety by observing all the precautions in view of the prevailing rainy weather conditions. The General Manager held a review meeting on safety, punctuality, and freight loading at Rail Nilayam here on Monday. The divisional railway managers (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, and Nanded joined the review meeting through video conference. Speaking on the occasion, the General Manager reviewed the punctuality of the zone with all the DRMs and instructed the officials to identify the root causes for issues affecting punctuality and take remedial steps to improve the performance. He also directed officials to strictly implement the permanent and temporary speed restrictions imposed. On the safety aspect, Arun Kumar Jain asked the officials to focus on the shunting method practices followed in the yards. He stressed avoiding shortcut methods and adopting absolute safety procedures in train operations.

The General Manager advised the officials to have frequent and thorough safety checks to strengthen the track in yards. He instructed the officials to intensify the track patrolling in bad weather conditions for enhanced safety. Arun Kumar Jain also reviewed the loading performance of the zone. He observed that the loading performance of the zone was reduced due to heavy rains across the zone and instructed the officials to put extra effort to achieve the targets duly following the safety precautions. The General Manager also instructed the officials to plan and conduct special drives on safety at work sites involving the concerned departments and supervisors.
