Hyderabad: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday said as, on September 1, more than 6.95 crores anti- Covid vaccine doses have been administered in Telangana. Sitharaman earlier visit- ed a Covid-19 vaccination center at Kotagiri Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Banswada town in the state and interacted with health workers during her visit to Zaheerabad.
The Minister said more than 3.23 crore beneficiaries have received the first dose, 3.12 crore have received the second dose and 58.92 lakh beneficiaries have received the precaution dose. The state has 1,431 vaccination sites. Sitharaman also visited a ration shop at Birkoor village in Banswada town during her visit to Zaheerabad.
She said the state has about 1.91 crore beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). The Finance Minister said under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY), 23,95,275 MT of foodgrains have been allocated free of cost to Telangana by the Centre from April 2020 till now. Sitharaman also visited Sri Sai School near Banswada.
She said a pleasant experience when students, their teachers, and also an elderly lady attendant came out to greet me. Very touching and inspirational, the Minister said. Sitharaman paid homage to the Martyrs of Telangana struggle at Koyyagutta Tanda ‘X’ road in Banswada town during her three-day visit to Zaheerabad.
