PM Modi, CM KCR pay tributes to actor, former union Minister Krishnam Raju

Hyderabad: Tributes poured in from various quarters to the family members of actor and former union Minister UV Krishnam Raju who passed away at a private hospital in Hyderabad in the wee hours of Sunday. He died at the age of 83, while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad.Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered his condolences over the demise of the veteran actor. He tweeted, “Saddened by the passing away of Shri UV Krishnam Raju Garu. The coming generations will remember his cinematic brilliance and creativity. He was also at the forefront of community service and made a mark as a political leader.(sic)”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah too grieved the demise of Krishnam Raju and stated that his passing away will leave a deep void in Telugu cinema.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao condoled the demise of Krishnam Raju and prayed for his soul to rest in peace. He extended his condolences to the family members of the actor. He said the death of Krishnan Raju was a great loss for the Telugu film industry. He had also recalled the services of Krishnam Raju as a union Minister and also a Lok Sabha member.

Further, he directed Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to make arrangements to perform the cremation of his dearest friend Krishnam Raju with the State honours here on Monday. IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao visited the mortal remains of the legendary actor at the latter’s residence and paid floral tributes. Several State Cabinet Ministers also paid tributes to Krishnam Raju and extended their condolences.

Meanwhile, leaders of various political parties paid their last respects and extended condolences to the family members. They included Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy and several other union Ministers, Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan, AP Chief Minister YS Jagan MOhan Reddy, TPCC president A Revanth Reddy, BJP Telangana president Bandi Sanjay and several others.
