Hyderabad: Political heat began at the Munugode assembly constituency even as the Election Commission of India announced the poll schedule. The first political rally and a public meeting were conducted by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) supremo and Chief Minister K.Chandrasekh ar Rao (known as KCR) for the upcoming bye-election in Munug ode Assembly constituency on Saturday evening.
Close on their heels, BJP is working to make Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s public meeting on Sunday’s success while the Congress is launching a 100-day campaign with 175 of its leaders. Addressing the well-gathered public meeting, KCR said that all Progressive forces should unite with the TRS party and defeat BJP.
All active and progressive forces should display their strength, he said the Communist Party of India (CPI) would support TRS Nominee in the by-election and the CPM would also join soon. He said if we vote for Congress, it will go to waste.
Congress neither wins nor comes to power. Congress is nowhere in the country and the party has nothing to do for the country and the state, he said. Teaching a befitting lesson to the forces, who brought this by-election unnecessarily, KCR said he will not be allowed to install meters at farm wells and the Rythu Bandhu scheme will continue until he is alive, he assured.
He appealed to farmers to go pump sets and pray with folded hands before casting their vote in by-elections. Telangana is the only state in the country pro- viding 24-hour quality power to all sectors, he claimed and said not a single BJP-ruled state including PM’s native state of Gujrat is supplying power.
