- Student supplies distribution to be completed before June 15 deadline
- Centralized procurement system to ensure quality and transparency
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to maintain strict quality standards in the supply of materials provided to students across welfare institutions, stressing that there should be no compromise at any stage.
During a high level review meeting held in Hyderabad, Revanth Reddy emphasized that essential items such as notebooks, uniforms, school bags, bed sheets, track suits, plates, glasses, ID cards, and storage trunks must meet quality benchmarks. He directed departments to ensure that all required materials reach students on or before June 15.
Highlighting the importance of timely supply, Revanth Reddy noted that students can focus better on their studies only when they receive necessary materials without delay. He also assured that payments to suppliers would be processed promptly once the distribution is completed.
The Chief Minister reviewed procurement practices across departments including education, backward classes, minority welfare, tribal welfare, and scheduled caste development. He pointed out that earlier decentralized systems led to inconsistencies and irregularities, which is why the centralized procurement model has been introduced.
Revanth Reddy also called for collecting feedback directly from students regarding the quality of items supplied. To ensure transparency, he instructed officials to document the distribution process with photos and videos and verify that every student has received all necessary materials.
He further directed that nodal officers be appointed at the mandal level to oversee distribution to schools and hostels. A coordination committee involving all concerned departments is also set to be formed to streamline communication and implementation.
Senior officials from multiple departments attended the review meeting, where the focus remained on improving efficiency, maintaining quality, and ensuring accountability in delivering student welfare benefits across the state.
