The South India times Nizamabad: Speakers said that the spirit of struggle maintained by Sardar Sarvai Papanna Goud is applicable to all. The 372nd birth anniversary celebrations of Sarvai Papanna Goud were celebrated on Thursday at New Ambedkar Bhawan in the district center under the auspices of the District Backward Classes Welfare Department as per the government directives. The statue of Sarvai Papanna Goud, which was installed earlier in Vinayakanagar, was unveiled by Zilla Parishad Chairman Dadannagar Vithal Rao, Legislative Council Members V. Gangadhar Goud, City Mayor Neetu Kiran and Collector C. Narayana Reddy. Speaking on the occasion, ZP Chairman Vitthal Rao said that it is a great pleasure to officially celebrate the birth anniversary of the fighter Papan Goud on the occasion of India’s Diamond Festival. Sarvai Papanna Goud’s fighting spirit to face injustice was praised as extraordinary.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said that in the Telangana state, which has been achieved through struggle, he is working to support caste professions and handicrafts in every way. MLC VsGangadhar Goud said that Dhisali Sarvai, who filled the battle against tyranny and oppression during the time of the Mughal kings, was glorified and honored as Papana Maharaj. He urged the Gowda caste people to unite and work hard for their rights, taking the Papanna Gowda struggle as an example.
Acknowledging the efforts of the Gowda caste people who played an active role in the Telangana movement, Chief Minister KCR said that many programs are being implemented for their upliftment. He reminded me that the tax on Kallu Geeta’s profession was canceled and the dues of 14 crores were paid. He said that in case of accidental death of any Geetha worker during stone carving, the compensation of Rs 2 lakh has been increased to Rs 5 lakh. He said that five acres of land worth crores of rupees in Kokapet, Hyderabad has been allocated for the Gowda community.
