The Singareni rescue team from Telangana has brought international recognition to India after winning the top prize in the underground rescue category at the International Mines Rescue Competition held in Zambia.
Teams from several mining nations participated in the prestigious global event, but the Singareni contingent stood out with its technical skills, discipline and emergency response performance. The achievement has become a proud moment for the mining sector and employees associated with the organisation.
The competition focused on real time rescue operations carried out during underground mining emergencies. Participants were tested on their ability to respond quickly during dangerous situations, use advanced rescue equipment effectively and minimise risk to trapped workers during mock disaster drills.
