Sparsh Hospice to organize ‘Bollywood musical Comedy Play’

Hyderabad: City-based palliative care facility, Sparsh Hospice is organizing ‘Blame it on Yashraj’, a Bollywood musical comedy, annual funding raising night its annual fundraising night at Shilpakala Vediaka in the city on August 26 . Telangana IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao unveiled the poster of the play on Saturday.

The fundraising event will feature a comedy play ‘Blame it on Yashraj’, a Bollywood musical comedy of an Indian family caught in the whirlwind of a wedding. The proceeds from the event will be utilized to provide free palliative care facilities to terminally ill patients. So far, Sparsh Hospice has provided free palliative care services to over 5,000 terminally ill patients.

Once upon a time, around 54 BC (that’s before Bollywood Contro l), weddings in India were simple ”rituals linked to individual communities” affairs. Then Bollywood changed the face of Indian weddings forever, making them all clones of a Punjabi Bollywood six-day wedding. Blame it on Yashraj is the hilarious story of a Punjabi/Bengali family, who get caught up in the whirlwind of a wed- ding when their darling daughter decides to marry a boy from another community.

Innovatively mounted with fast-changing video walls as backdrops, every scene and every emotion is enhanced with music and dances, hilarious parodies of popular Bollywood tracks, and an ensemble cast of well-known stage and TV artists. The play, which will feature a foot-tapping score by Louis Bank, promises to be a laugh-a-minute roller coaster ride.

The humor in the play comes not from gags, but from the ”I have seen that I have said that, I have experienced that in my family!” feeling! The play is a mirror of our life being shown on stage. To be Choreographed by Davendra Singh it is written & directed by: Bharat Dabholkar and is produced by Ashvin Kamla Daulat Gidwani – AGP World.

The star cast of the play includes: Ananth Mahad Evan, Jayati Bhatia, Bharat Dabholkar, Gaurav Sharm a, Punit Tejwani, Sneha Chavan, Purkayastha Shy ama Shree, Palash Dutta & Neel Gagdani Deve loped on a 1.2 acre of land at Khajaguda, outskirts of the city, which was donated by the Telangana government, the Sparsh Hosp ice has 82-beds including 10-pediatric beds and home-care services.
