Thunderstorm with lightning likely in TS on Aug 20-21 : Met

The South India times Hyderabad: Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning is likely to occur at isolated places in many districts of Telangana next Saturday and Sunday, the Meteorological Centre said on Wednesday. In a special weather bulletin here, it said the North-South trough from Rayalaseema to Gulf of Mannar across Tamil Nadu at 0.9 Km above mean sea level has become less marked. The bulletin said a low-pressure area is likely to form over the North Bay of Bengal around August 19. Mainly low-level South-Westerlies prevail over the state. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at isolated places or at a few places in the state during the next five days. The Southwest monsoon has been weak in Telangana during the last 24 hours. Rain occurred at few places in the state during the same period, the bulletin added.
