Timely procurement of rice should be planned: Peddapalli Collector

Peddapalli (July 26): (The South India Times) District Collector Dr. Sangeeta Satyanarayana directed the concerned officials to prepare a plan for a timely supply of rice to Bharat Food Company from the district. On the issue of custom milling rice, a collector review was conducted with the officials and rice millers in the meeting hall of the collectorate on Tuesday.

The Collector said that 3.95 lakh metric tonnes of grain have been purchased in the district, 82 thousand metric tonnes of rice have been supplied so far and another 1.82 lakh metric tonnes of rice have to be supplied to the Food Corporation of India. The Collector directed that milling should be done in 3 shifts in rice mills every day in the district and steps should be taken to start 198 rice mills as soon as possible.

Additional Collector Lakshminarayana, District Civil Supplies Officer Thota Venkatesh, Civil Supplies Manager Praveen, representatives of rice mills, FCI representatives, and officials participated in the review meeting.
