The South India times Nizamabad: As part of the Vanamahotsavam in celebration of independent India’s Diamond Festival, State Minister for Roads and Buildings Vemula Prashanth Reddy planted saplings in the Freedom Park of Padagal village of Velpur mandal on Wednesday.
On the occasion of completion of 75 years of independence of the country, 750 saplings were planted in the “Freedom Park” together with officials, local public representatives and villagers.
The locals enthusiastically participated in the Vanamahotsava, hoisting tricolor flags and shouting patriotic slogans. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Prashanth Reddy called upon every one in Telangana to participate in the Vajrotsava celebrations and spread the country’s reputation to the world on the occasion of the completion of 75 years of the country’s independence.
He said that the Telangana government is undertaking large-scale programs for a fortnight to develop the sense of nationalism among all the people. As a part of this, the Vanamahotsava program was undertaken and saplings were planted.
It is suggested to hoist the triple moon flag on every house across Telangana on the day of Independence Day, Pandragastu. Minister Prashant Reddy expressed hope that there are about 20 lakhs residences in the state and if the tricolor flag is hoisted on every house, there is a possibility of getting a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
He said that many sacrificers have worked hard to provide freedom and independence to the country, and it is the responsibility of everyone to remember their sacrifices and pay tribute.
Everyone is called to develop a sense of nationalism and participate in the progress of the country. District Forest Officer Sunil, DRDO Chander, DPO Jayasudha, local public representatives, mandal officers and villagers participated in this program.
