The South Indian Times Mulugu: The 48-day-long strike for the resolution of the fair issues of VRAs – reminding Chief Minister KCR that two years have passed since he announced that he would implement a pay scale for VRAs in the Assembly has been brought to the attention of the government.
Our Chief Minister KCR himself has declared an indefinite strike across the state from 25th July due to the negligence of the government, which has presented petitions and protests in various forms, step by step, for the resolution of our fair and service-related issues. As of today, even after 48 days, the government is not responding. We have suffered a lot in the Telangana government.
1) Division of 10 districts into 33 districts, 42 revenue divisions into 73 revenue divisions, 466 mandals into 594 mandals, and no increase in staff. Within the scope of the division, VRAs with 3 years of service, 10th class qualification, attendant, night watchman, and jeep driver is promoted, but the new division is not giving promotions as the scope of the old division is in doubt.
2) Introduced new Revenue Act 2020, introduced Dharani Portal and abolished the VRO system. But no one was appointed for their duties. VRAs are promoted as VROs after 5 years of service and intermediate qualification. But due to the abolition of the VRO system, there was no promotion. Due to these two measures taken by the government, the promotions we need in terms of service have stopped and the future is dark. Due to the non-increased vacancies due to the addition of new districts, we are under severe work pressure due to the entire workload of canceled VRO posts falling on us.
