Hyderabad, Jan 12: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Revanth Reddy on Thursday said that AICC state affairs in-charge Manik Rao Thackeray conducted meetings to prepare the Telangana Congress for the ensuing elections.It is an election year in Telangana, hence Thackeray, who took charge as the new in-charge, said that he had a meeting with the party leaders for two consecutive days, Revanth said in a press conference here.
He said that Thackeray had a meeting with the party’s political affairs committee, executive committee, presidents of DCC, CCC, state general secretaries, and leaders of affiliated unions.
Thackeray has a long experience both in the party and in politics, the TPCC Chief said that he has held many responsibilities from Youth Congress to PCC President.He said that during the two-day visit, Thackeray spoke to everyone in the party about the Hath Se Hath Jodo Yatra to be held from January 26.He said that after Sankranti, the leaders have been instructed to tour at the grassroots level and form Mandal and district committees regarding the yatra.Revanth said that Thackeray said that this process should be completed by January 20 with coordination and he will visit again on January 21 and announce the Hath Se Hath Jodo yatra committees in full.Revanth reminded that he (Thackeray) was the Home Minister at the time of the bomb blasts and communal riots in Mumbai and he worked very efficiently as the Home Minister under such difficult conditions.
He said that Thackeray also worked as efficiently when Sarath Pawar was the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
He said that he is happy to have such a leader as the in-charge of Telangana state affairs.
He said that the appointment of a leader with all that experience and recognition as the in-charge can understand how much love the high command has for Telangana.
