Telangana is set to witness a high-profile visit as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive on May 9, marking a significant day for infrastructure and development initiatives in the state. The visit is expected to bring a series of project launches and foundation ceremonies across multiple sectors.
A major highlight of the tour will be the public meeting planned at Gymkhana Grounds in Secunderabad, where the Prime Minister will address a large gathering. His speech is likely to touch upon the Centre’s contributions to Telangana and may also include key political remarks.
On the development front, several crucial projects are lined up. The Prime Minister is expected to inaugurate or lay the foundation stone for initiatives spanning education, healthcare, and transportation. Among them, the expansion works of the AIIMS hospital, estimated at around ₹1,399 crore, stand out as a significant boost to the region’s medical infrastructure.
In addition, long-awaited progress in Hyderabad’s suburban rail network will be marked by the launch of key sections under MMTS Phase 2, addressing commuter demands and improving urban connectivity. Another important milestone includes the dedication of a railway manufacturing unit at Kazipet, which is expected to enhance local industrial growth.
Road connectivity will also receive attention, with new National Highway projects set to be initiated, aiming to improve access between districts and strengthen the state’s transport network.
Meanwhile, there is growing curiosity over whether the Prime Minister will visit Malla Reddy University during his trip. Reports suggest that former minister Malla Reddy has extended an invitation, especially after recent political developments involving his family. However, there has been no official confirmation yet regarding this part of the schedule.
As preparations intensify, the visit is being seen as a crucial moment for Telangana, both in terms of development announcements and political significance.
