Congress leader Rahul Gandhi held discussions with Telangana minister Gaddam Vivek Venkataswamy on the challenges being faced by gig workers across the state. The meeting focused on improving welfare measures and ensuring stronger protection for workers engaged in app based and freelance services.

During the interaction, Vivek briefed Rahul Gandhi about the growing concerns among gig workers, including employment security, financial stability and labour rights. He also explained the need for broader policy support to safeguard workers dependent on digital platforms for their livelihoods.

The minister said the Telangana government is planning to organise a large scale programme dedicated to gig workers in the near future. The proposed event is expected to highlight issues related to welfare schemes, rights protection and social security benefits.
