Visakhapatnam is Now Andhra Capital

The capital of AP would now be the famous port town of Visakhapatnam, also called Vizag by Englishmen who could not pronounce that name. As slaves of the British and Muslims, we Indians accepted every name change the two colonizers imposed on us, though the old names continued to be used by villagers.
What happened to the plan for 365 capitals according to which the entire State budget would be spent on TA for all government employees as the capital would be shifting every day? That could have been an excellent idea as the Budget would have been reduced to one sentence making its expensive printing not necessary The only reason the new Chief Minister of India’s first linguistic state _ and also the first to be split based on dialect,- is that his political rival the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) had decided to build a new capital for the truncated state that lost its capital, which was Hyderabad, to Telangana created solely to appease the city’s Muslim population.
Andhra’s new CM, who has built a house costing many many crores of rupees and is facing court cases could buy the CM post which the TDP “owner” wanted for his son Lokesh, wanted three capitals for the State to make land costs go up and thereby benefit partymen who had grabbed thousands of acres.He.charged his rival Nara Chandrababu Naidu with the same motive -of TDP leaders trying to cash in on the hike in land prices ar the new site – Amaravati. The real reason, besides the windfall to his partymen, could be that it was too Hindu a name for the State’s third Christian CM whom the Hindu-majority (intolerant!) elected with a thumping majority rejecting dynastic rule..A maharaja’s son inheriting the Kingdom is, according to Babu, quite normal. That was the reason the dynastic CM of Andhra, YSR Jaganmohan Reddy,(himself eldest son of Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the CM (Congress) of AP who died in a helicopter crash) Jagan formed YSR Congress with the plan to merge with Congress. Like Kalwakurty Chandrasekhar Rao he too did not merge his party with Congress. Who would board a sinking ship?Jagan, who wants to be known as Jagananna, is said to have become closer to BJP while KCR developed prime ministerial ambitions and wants all Opposition to follow him – which is what the dozen-odd opposition parties also want. ALL want to head the front opposing the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party as it is a political front of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh – the Hindu group it is a fashion to hate. ALL are dynastic. believe in Muslim appeasement and shout that they are secular.
ALL show off some caste or the other and exhibit this fact.So Visakhapatnam will be the Andhra Pradesh capital, as the Supreme too rejected the multiple capital concept. The idea of Nagour as the second capital of Maharashtra and Bijapur of Karnataka was for political reasons – the first to appease Vidarbha where Nagpur lost its status as the state capital and the second to counter the move for merging a part of Karnataka with Maharashtra.While politics played a role in those two cases economics — the goal of gaining money by land price escalation — is behind Visakhapatnam becoming AP capital.
