TN Guv inaugurates Bridge Intl Conf on Indian Fine Arts

Chennai, Dec 24 : Tamil Nadu Governor R.N.Ravi today inaugurated the Bridge International Conference on Indian Fine Arts at IIT-Madras campus held under the aegis of Union Ministry of Culture. In his inaugural address, ,he urged the teachers who are nurturing and shaping the children and youth, the Future India, to make them understand, proud and conscious about spirituality and culture of Bharat.
Stating that Indian arts and music indicate India’s identity, he said they are devotional and experiment of Bhakthi to divine. India’s traditions and
customs emphasized on oneness creation with diversity and the core is divine. “Bharat is an enlighten land with spirituality and cultural revolutionary
civilization”, he added. The Governor elaborated how Indian arts and culture reflects the depth of Bharat’s high intellectual civilisation and richness of spiritual embodiment. Indian artists are not mere exhibiting their techniques in their performance, but also expression of tribute to Maa Bharati, the Governor said, while underscoring that India’s traditional approach insists on everyone is member of family and part of the world.
This unique approach makes India quite varied from the view of world countries who have indulged in reckless exploitation of mother Earth. Talking about India’s G-20 Presidency, the Governor highlighted that the responsibility imposed upon India is an important milestone in the journey of Amrit Kal towards destiny of Vishwa Guru as dreamt by Swami Vivekananda and Sri Aurobindo who predicted that Bharat can alone lead the world for the sake of humanity and Bharat has to fulfill its obligation.
The Governor congratulated the Bridge Academy for their immense service in establishing structure for promoting Indian Arts and Culture and honouring the cultural legends who have contributed their best to the Nation and carried the richness of our traditions to the future generations.
He wished success for the conclave pursuing the Indian classical art forms to bring new innovative ideas for the people. During the inauguration, Dr.V.Kamakoti, Director IIT (M), Padma Bhushan and renowned danseuse Dr.Padma Subramaniyam, President, Nrithyodhaya Managing Trustee, Sangeet Laya Samrat and Padma Bhushan Dr.T.V.Gopala Krishnan, Carnatic and Hindustani Musician were honoured..
