Actor Vishal has openly reacted to a key cabinet decision taken by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay. The actor voiced concern after the newly formed government assigned the Cinematography and Film Technology Department to Egmore MLA Raj Mohan. His remarks quickly gained attention across the Tamil film industry and political circles.

Sharing his opinion on social media platform X, Vishal said he was happy to see ministers receiving their responsibilities in the new cabinet, but admitted he felt disappointed with the allocation of the film related department. According to him, the Tamil cinema industry is facing several long standing challenges that require strong understanding and direct involvement from experienced leadership.

Vishal stated that Chief Minister Vijay, who has spent decades in the cinema industry, would be better suited to personally oversee the Film Technology Department. He clarified that his comments were not intended to insult Raj Mohan, but were shared only as a genuine suggestion for the welfare of the industry.

Along with his criticism, Vishal also placed three major demands before the new government. He urged authorities to introduce a government controlled online movie ticket booking platform to ensure transparency and fair pricing for audiences. He further requested the removal of local body taxes on films under the concept of one nation one tax.

The actor also appealed to the government to increase subsidies for small budget films, saying many independent filmmakers continue to struggle financially despite producing quality cinema. Vishal’s comments have now triggered discussions within the Tamil film community about the future direction of cinema related policies under the new administration.
