The Telangana government, under the auspices of the Commissioner of Health nd Family Welfare, convened a crucial consultation with Gynaecologists from tertiary and secondary care hospitals and Program Officers–MCH of 33 districts in Hyderabad on Friday.
The program Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan – ‘SUMAN’ – for ending preventable maternal mortality focused on ‘Ending Preventable Maternal Mortality in Telangana’, brought together key stakeholders, program experts, and partners dedicated to advancing maternal health initiatives in Telangana and fast track the reduction of maternal mortality and morbidity.
In the opening addresses by the Secretary Health, Medical and Family Welfare and the Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare, emphasized on the significance of identifying and addressing maternal health challenges as well as consolidating the best practices.
Among those who participated, Dr Zalalem Taffesse, Chief of UNICEF for Telangana, AP, and Karnataka and his team of health, nutrition and communication specialists, along with Director Medical Education and Commissioner TVVP, Joint Director Maternal Health and Nutrition, program officers, consultants and other partners including Fernandez Foundation,
ARMMAN, IIPH, CEGIS, ID Insight and others from the health sector.
