NEW DELHI, MAY 10: In response to the evolving situation in the border regions, the Telangana Government has swiftly activated emergency measures to assist its citizens stranded or returning from affected areas. Under the direct instructions of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Telangana Bhawan in New Delhi has been designated as the nodal centre for coordination and relief operations.

A 24×7 control room has been established at Telangana Bhawan to respond to distress calls and coordinate rescue and support efforts. Officials confirmed that around 30 distress calls have already been received and are being actively addressed.

Key relief initiatives at Telangana Bhawan include:

Free food and lodging for returning citizens

Medical camp services for immediate health assessments

Transportation assistance to airports and railway stations for onward travel

Alternate accommodations where needed, beyond the Bhawan premises

Authorities at Telangana Bhawan are also maintaining close coordination with district administrations in border areas to support the safe movement of Telangana residents to secure zones. Additionally, the Bhawan is in constant touch with the Government of India to stay updated on ground conditions and implement safety protocols accordingly.

As of now, eight individuals from Jammu & Kashmir have reached Telangana Bhawan and are under the government’s care, with arrangements being made for their safe return to their hometowns in Telangana.

In a demonstration of hands-on leadership, the Resident Commissioner conducted a midnight inspection to personally oversee preparedness and ensure that necessary arrangements were in place for any incoming citizens.

Reiterating its commitment to the welfare of its people, the Government of Telangana has assured continuous monitoring of the situation and timely response to emerging needs.
