As the Union Budget approaches, Telangana MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy has called on the central government to allocate fair and adequate funds to the state. He said balanced development can only be achieved when all states receive equal treatment.
Speaking to the media in New Delhi, the MP made his remarks after the President’s address to the joint session of Parliament on the opening day of the Budget meetings.
Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy stated that the responsibility of ensuring fairness lies with the NDA government currently in power at the Centre. He stressed that the federal structure demands equal justice to every state, regardless of political alignment.
He criticised what he described as a selective funding approach, alleging that greater financial priority is being given only to NDA ruled states or regions heading into elections.
According to the MP, development should not be guided by political advantage but by genuine regional needs. He said Telangana expects the upcoming budget to reflect this principle.
Reiterating his demand, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy urged the Centre to recognise the state’s requirements and ensure that allocations promote inclusive growth rather than political preference.
