The investigation into the Ajit Pawar plane crash has entered a crucial phase, with early findings bringing new focus on the final moments before the aircraft went down.

Soon after the accident, teams from the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau reached the crash site and began collecting technical evidence. Officials say several important inputs have emerged during the preliminary review.

According to sources familiar with the probe, investigators suspect that the pilot may have made a critical judgment error while attempting to land the aircraft. The issue reportedly surfaced when the first landing attempt did not succeed.

During the second approach, visibility was said to be poor. Officials believe the aircraft could have been diverted to Pune at that stage, but the pilot instead attempted to realign the flight for landing.

Preliminary analysis suggests that the aircraft may have been moving at high speed while the landing was delayed, creating a risky situation during descent. Investigators are also examining whether operational pressure played a role in the decision making.

Experts note that such pressure is not uncommon during VIP flight operations, where strict schedules often influence cockpit choices. However, the investigation will determine whether standard safety procedures were compromised.

The aircraft had departed from Mumbai at 8:10 am and was nearing Baramati airport when the crash occurred. Ajit Pawar, his personal security officer, the pilot and co pilots were among those on board. All occupants lost their lives in the incident.

The AAIB continues its detailed examination of flight data and site evidence. Meanwhile, final rites for Ajit Pawar were held in Baramati, attended by national leaders, ministers and thousands of supporters, as the nation mourned the tragic loss.
