TGSRTC Announces 2243 Special Buses for Maha Shivaratri Across Telangana

With lakhs of devotees expected to travel for Maha Shivaratri, TGSRTC has rolled out extensive arrangements to ensure smooth transportation across Telangana. The corporation will operate 2243 special buses linking 43 prominent Shaivite temples during the festival period.
The special services will run from 14 to 16 of this month, as Maha Shivaratri falls on the 15. Compared to last year, the corporation has added 208 more buses to manage the anticipated rush. Officials have also instructed field staff to deploy additional services wherever crowds increase.
Among the major destinations, 781 special buses will operate to Srisailam, 416 to Vemulawada and 249 to Yadadri. Services have also been arranged to Keesaragutta, Kaleshwaram, Komuravelli, Alampur, Umamaheswaram, Palakurthi and Ramappa temples. From Hyderabad, devotees can board special buses to Srisailam from MGBS, JBS, CBS, IS Sadan, KPHB and BHEL.
To facilitate pilgrims, TGSRTC is setting up temporary shelters, seating arrangements, drinking water facilities and public address systems at major boarding points. Display boards will be placed on the front of special buses to help passengers easily identify services.
Ticket fares for special buses have been revised as per the state government order, with rates increased up to one and a half times compared to regular services. However, there will be no change in ticket prices for regular buses. The revised fares will apply only to special services operating between 14 and 16, while for Yadadri routes they will remain effective from 15 to 17.
The corporation has clarified that free bus travel for women in Pallevelugu, Express, City Ordinary and Metro Express categories will continue as per the existing state scheme. Women passengers are required to collect zero fare tickets during travel.
Advance reservation has been made available for special buses operating from Hyderabad to Srisailam through the official website. Senior officials, under the leadership of Vice Chairman and Managing Director Y Nagireddy IPS, have already reviewed the festival arrangements and directed staff to avoid inconvenience to devotees.
With detailed planning and additional fleet deployment, TGSRTC aims to ensure that Maha Shivaratri pilgrims reach their destinations safely and comfortably during the festive rush.
