Swiss banking major UBS has launched its new Global Capability Centre in Hyderabad, marking a significant boost to the city’s employment landscape. The centre is expected to generate around 3000 professional jobs over the next two years, focusing on advanced financial technology and operational services.
The inauguration was attended by Telangana IT and Industries Minister Sridhar Babu, who said the move reflects growing global confidence in Hyderabad. He described the UBS expansion as a long term partnership that strengthens trade and economic ties between India Europe and Switzerland.
UBS officials said Hyderabad was chosen due to its strong talent pool supportive government policies and robust infrastructure. They added that the new centre will play a key role in high value areas such as financial technology operations and global leadership functions.
The company also indicated that the GCC will focus on expanding digital capabilities including artificial intelligence while supporting UBS global business growth. Officials noted that Hyderabad offers the right ecosystem for innovation and scale.
With global financial institutions increasingly setting up large operations in the city, the UBS Global Capability Centre is expected to further cement Hyderabad’s reputation as a preferred destination for global technology and finance driven enterprises.
