The Election Commission of India has issued clear instructions to 22 states and Union Territories to complete all preparatory arrangements for the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls at the earliest. The directive is part of a nationwide effort to ensure accurate and updated voter lists.

According to officials, the next phase of the Special Intensive Revision is expected to begin from April. Once this round is completed, the revision process will be concluded across all states and Union Territories, marking a significant milestone in electoral preparedness.

The Commission stated that states including Telangana and Andhra Pradesh must remain fully ready to implement the revision smoothly. Officials have been asked to focus on groundwork, staffing and logistical readiness to avoid delays.

The Election Commission emphasised that a comprehensive and error free voter list is essential to strengthen the democratic process. The upcoming revision aims to remove inaccuracies, include eligible voters and maintain transparency in the electoral system across the country.
