A chilling incident has shaken Uttar Pradesh, where five members of the same family were found dead under suspicious circumstances in Kasganj district. Police said early indications suggest that the head of the family may have killed his wife and three children before taking his own life.
The case came to light in the Amanpur police station area after neighbours noticed the house remained locked for two days. On Saturday morning, a strong foul smell emanating from the residence alerted locals, who immediately informed the police.
Officers broke open the doors and found five decomposed bodies lying inside a single room. The deceased were identified as Satyadev Fauji, who ran a welding shop near a petrol bunk, along with his wife and their three children. Police believe the deaths occurred at least two days before the discovery.
A forensic team examined the scene and collected evidence, while the bodies were sent for postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Investigators are focusing on possible financial stress or family disputes that may have led to the tragedy.
A special police team has been formed to speed up the investigation. Officials are analysing Satyadev’s mobile phone call data and questioning acquaintances to piece together the events that led to the deaths.
