Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 Debuts With Advanced GPS and 14 Day Battery

New smartwatch from Huawei features titanium build, 3D floating antenna system, marathon training tools and up to 14 days battery life, designed for serious runners and fitness enthusiasts

Huawei has expanded its wearable portfolio with the global launch of the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2, a smartwatch aimed squarely at runners who want precise tracking without compromising on style or battery life.

The device was unveiled in Madrid alongside the Huawei Mate 80 Pro and Huawei MatePad Mini, positioning it as part of the brand’s broader push into premium connected devices. With a lightweight titanium body and a focus on endurance sports, the new watch is built to appeal to both elite athletes and everyday fitness fans.

Price and availability

In the United Kingdom, the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 is priced at GBP 350, roughly Rs 42900. It is currently available through the official Huawei UK website. Buyers can choose from Dawn Orange, Dusk Blue and Midnight Black color options. The company has not yet confirmed when the smartwatch will arrive in other markets, but further announcements are expected soon.

Built for runners

At the heart of the watch is a new 3D floating antenna architecture, which Huawei claims improves positioning accuracy by up to 20 percent compared to earlier models. The smartwatch supports dual band L1 and L5 GPS along with multiple satellite systems including GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, QZSS and NavIC. Even in dense urban areas or tunnels where signals briefly drop, the watch can continue calculating route and distance.

Huawei has also introduced an intelligent marathon mode developed in collaboration with the DSM Firmenich Running Team. The feature offers structured training plans, personalized race preparation and real time performance data. During workouts, users can monitor pace, estimated finish time and the gap between their current performance and race goals.

The watch includes a digital pacer, fueling reminders and advanced metrics such as lactate threshold, running power and running ability index. Post run, the Huawei Health app delivers recovery insights and form analysis to help athletes fine tune their training.

Display and durability

The Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 sports a 1.32 inch AMOLED display with a 466 by 466 pixel resolution and peak brightness of up to 3000 nits, ensuring visibility even under direct sunlight. The screen is protected by second generation Kunlun Glass for added durability.

The case, bezel, crown and buttons are crafted from titanium alloy. Measuring 43.5 by 43.5 by 10.7 mm and weighing around 34.5 grams without the strap, the watch is designed to stay comfortable during long runs. It comes with a breathable AirDry woven strap that improves airflow by 25 percent, along with a fluoroelastomer strap option.

More than just a running watch

Beyond running, the smartwatch supports over 100 sports modes including trail running, swimming, cycling and golf. In select markets, users get access to more than 17000 golf courses and freediving support up to 40 meters. The device carries 5ATM and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance.

Health tracking features include ECG monitoring, heart rate variability analysis, blood oxygen tracking, sleep monitoring, breathing awareness and stress measurement. Smart features such as Bluetooth calling, NFC payments, standalone music playback and QR code scanning are also onboard.

Battery life is one of its strongest claims. Huawei says the watch can last up to 14 days under light use, around 7 days with typical usage and up to 32 hours in outdoor workout mode with precise positioning enabled. Wireless charging support adds further convenience.

With the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2, the company is clearly targeting runners who demand accuracy, performance insights and long battery life in a premium package. For those training for their next marathon or simply trying to improve daily fitness, this smartwatch aims to be more than just a timekeeper.
