- State requests release of pending Finance Commission funds.
The central government has released another six hundred forty crore rupees to support village level development in Telangana under the Finance Commission grants. The funds have been allocated to gram panchayats across the state to strengthen rural infrastructure and local governance initiatives.
State officials confirmed that this is the second installment of the same amount released by the Centre in recent weeks. With the latest release the entire pending allocation related to the financial year two thousand twenty four to twenty five has now been cleared.
Panchayat Raj Minister Seethakka welcomed the decision and said the release of funds will help accelerate development activities in villages. She explained that the state government has been regularly submitting required utility certificates and detailed reports to the central authorities which helped speed up the approval and disbursement process.
According to the minister the funds are being used for essential village development works including infrastructure improvement sanitation projects and other community welfare initiatives. The transparent implementation of these projects has also played a role in ensuring continued financial support.
However the state government is still waiting for the next allocation for the financial year two thousand twenty five to twenty six. Officials estimate that around one thousand two hundred fifty five crore rupees is still pending from the Centre under the Finance Commission grants.
Seethakka said these pending funds are crucial for continuing development works in gram panchayats. Without timely release of funds several ongoing projects in rural areas could face delays.
The minister has requested the central government to release the remaining funds as early as possible. She pointed out that the term of the Fifteenth Finance Commission is nearing completion and urged authorities not to delay the pending payments.
Officials believe the timely release of these funds will help local bodies continue development activities and strengthen rural infrastructure. Village administrations depend heavily on such financial support to implement projects that directly improve the living standards of residents.
The Telangana government has assured that it will continue coordinating with the Centre to ensure that funds for village development are released without delay and utilized effectively for the benefit of rural communities.
